Who Qualifies for the Heroes Escape Discount?
The Heroes Escape discount is available to:
Military: Active duty, reserve, National Guard, and veterans
First Responders: Police, fire, EMS, paramedics, nurses, physicians, physician assistants, medical technicians, and other qualifying medical personnel
Educators: Teachers, professors, and school staff with valid school or district ID
The reservation must be booked in the name of the eligible guest who will be staying at the resort.

How the Heroes Escape Discount Works
The Heroes Escape offer provides an extra 10% off qualifying nightly rates for eligible Military, First Responders, and Educators on most standard leisure stays.
Discount Amount: 10% off the nightly rate on eligible reservations
Where It Applies: Most standard, non-group, non-event stays booked directly with Mountain Springs Lake Resort
Minimum Stay:
Cabins & Cottages: Two-night minimum stay required
Luxury & Cottage Suites: Minimum stays may vary by date and season
No Blackout Dates: The Heroes Escape discount is available year-round, subject to availability
What’s Not Included: Taxes, fees, upgrades, add-ons, and incidentals are the guest’s responsibility
Other Offers: Cannot be combined with other discounts or promotional rates unless expressly stated (for winter IKON stays, see our IKON Skier’s Hideout page for stacking details)
To check your discounted rate, select your dates, choose your cabin or suite, and apply the Heroes promo code during booking. Your eligible savings will display before you confirm your stay.
How to Provide Proof of Eligibility
To keep this discount fair and easy for everyone, we do require proof of eligibility from the guest whose name is on the reservation.
Military Guests
Please do not email, text, or upload images of your military ID (it is unlawful to copy a U.S. military ID).
Instead, bring your valid military ID and present it in person at check-in before the resort office closes at 5:00 PM.
Educators & First Responders
You may provide proof of eligibility by:
Emailing a photo of your valid school, district, or first responder ID prior to arrival
Replying to your confirmation message if text/photo is supported
Or showing valid ID at check-in (before the office closes at 5:00 PM)
For the smoothest experience, we recommend sending proof at least 72 hours before arrival when possible.
If valid proof of eligibility is not received or shown at check-in, or if the reservation is not in the name of the eligible individual, the Heroes Escape discount will be removed and the reservation will be re-priced at the regular rate according to our standard policies.
A Few Important Resort Policies
All stays booked with the Heroes Escape discount are subject to our standard resort policies, including payment schedules, cancellation timelines, quiet hours, non-smoking rules, and occupancy limits.
Age to Book: The primary guest must be 21 or older to book a reservation
Non-Smoking: All cabins, cottages, and suites are non-smoking indoors (smoking is permitted outdoors only in designated areas)
Pet-Free Property: We do not allow pets
Firepits & Firewood: Only select cabins have outdoor firepits (3, 24–27, 53–55, 62–64). We provide kiln-dried wood bundles and firestarter for purchase and ask that guests do not bring outside firewood to protect the forest and prevent pests and disease.

Who is eligible for the Heroes Escape discount?
The Heroes Escape discount is available to active and retired Military, First Responders (police, fire, EMS, paramedics, nurses, physicians, physician assistants, medical technicians, and other qualifying medical professionals), and Educators with valid school or district ID. The reservation must be in the name of the eligible guest who is staying with us.
Do I need a promo code to receive the Heroes Escape discount?
No. The Heroes Escape rate appears automatically during booking. Simply select your dates and accommodation, and choose the Heroes Escape rate option if it is available.
Are there blackout dates for the Heroes Escape discount?
No. The Heroes Escape discount is designed as a year-round thank-you for your service. There are no preset blackout dates, though all stays remain subject to availability and standard minimum-stay requirements.
If demand is high, the Heroes Escape rate may simply not appear as an option during booking, or the system may display “No accommodations available.”
Does the discount apply to all accommodations?
The Heroes Escape discount applies to most standard nightly rates in our cabins, cottages, and luxury suites when booked directly with Mountain Springs Lake Resort. It may not apply to long-term stays, contracted group rates, or special event weekends.
Can I combine the Heroes Escape discount with other offers?
In most cases, the Heroes Escape discount cannot be combined with other discounts or promotional offers. An exception may apply for certain winter IKON Pass promotions—please see our IKON Skier’s Hideout page for details on how Heroes savings may stack with IKON offers for qualifying guests.
Is there a minimum stay for the Heroes Escape discount?
Yes. Our cabins and cottages require a two-night minimum stay, and some dates or accommodation types may have longer minimums. Luxury and Cottage Suites allow one-night stays and are strictly adults-only, accommodating a maximum of two adults per suite.
Can someone else use my discount if I’m not staying?
No. The Heroes Escape discount is intended for the eligible guest who is traveling. The reservation must be in your name, and you’ll need to present valid ID according to our verification instructions. If the eligible guest is not present or proof is not provided, the discount will be removed and standard rates will apply.
Are your accommodations non-smoking and pet-free?
Yes. All cabins, cottages, and suites are 100% non-smoking indoors, with smoking permitted outdoors only. Mountain Springs Lake Resort is a pet-free property.
