Accessibility Statement for MSLResort.com
Effective Date: July 18, 2025
At Mountain Springs Lake Resort, we are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all guests, including individuals with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards to provide an inclusive online environment.
Accessibility Standards
We aim to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and user-friendly for everyone.
Accessibility Features Implemented
Clear heading structure and semantic page organization
Descriptive alternative text for all important images
Keyboard-friendly navigation throughout the site
Color contrast adjusted for readability
An ADA-accessible lodging unit (Suite #14) available for booking
Technical Enhancements
To supplement the capabilities of our website platform (Squarespace), we have implemented additional technical improvements using custom JavaScript:
Adding hidden
<label>
tags for form fields to improve screen reader recognition where native labels are not generatedAutomatically applying
aria-label
attributes to unlabeled interactive buttons (e.g., mobile menu, search)Removing or repairing broken ARIA references to support assistive technologies
These custom enhancements help bridge accessibility gaps within platform limitations and demonstrate our commitment to compliance.
Known Limitations (Updated)
While we continue working toward full accessibility, we are aware of the following current limitations:
Some third-party review widgets used to display client testimonials may include unlabeled buttons, which are not fully accessible to screen readers. We are in contact with the provider to seek improvements.
A third-party dropdown menu used for enhanced navigation may contain empty or hidden link elements that do not include screen-reader labeling. These are being monitored, and accessible alternatives are under review.
Squarespace’s native form builder does not generate semantic HTML
<label>
elements for input fields. We have implemented code-based workarounds to inject labels, but some automated tools (such as WAVE) may still flag these fields due to limitations in the platform’s underlying HTML structure.
