Mountain Springs Lake Resort Rowboat Use Information

One of the great things about staying with us is that a rowboat is included during your stay!

Here’s what you need to know:

🚤 Boat Assignment

  • Each unit is assigned a specific rowboat. (Boats and docks are numbered to match your unit.)

    • (Note: Guests staying in Luxury Suites #8 through #15 have access to designated rowboats H1, H2, or H3, located down at boat row, as indicated on your welcome envelope.)

  • Please use only the boat allocated to your unit unless you rented extra boats.

  • If renting extra boats, the office will assign your additional boat(s).

  • Boating hours are from dawn to dusk, May through October, weather permitting.

  • If you notice any major damage, leaks, or anything that could affect the safe use of the boat, please do not use it. Contact the resort office for assistance or possible reassignment to another boat

  • We have a couple videos about PFD’s and How to Safely Enter a Rowboat at the bottom of this page.

🌊 During Your Stay

  • Always return the boat and oars as you found them, to the same dock or area.

  • Do not leave boats in the water — they may drift away, fill with water when it rains, or be damaged.

🎣 Fishing Information

  • Guests staying at Mountain Springs Lake Resort do not need a fishing license to fish during their stay — our lake is private and reserved exclusively for our guests.

  • Fishing poles are available to rent at the resort office between the hours it is open: 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

  • Pole rentals are $20 for the entire duration of your stay.

  • Live bait is available for purchase at the resort office.

  • We also have a small tackle area inside the resort office for basic fishing gear.

  • Trout are stocked in the lake during April, and we also have native species, including largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, perch, catfish, pickerel, and various types of panfish.

  • Many guests choose to catch and release, but it is not mandatory — you may keep your catch if you prefer.

    • (Note: Pickerel are a more aggressive species that can impact other fish populations. We kindly ask guests not to release pickerel if caught — they may be kept or disposed of. Thank you for helping us maintain a healthy lake environment.)

  • Fishing is not permitted around the designated beach and swimming areas at any time for the safety of all guests.

  • Important: If you plan to fish outside of the resort property, a valid Pennsylvania fishing license may be required. Please check current state and local PA fishing rules and regulations before fishing off resort property.
