What to Bring
Camera
You’re going to have plenty of memories, so this is essential!
Attire
This is a casual resort. Unless you’re coming for a dress-up function at the Lodge (such as a wedding), casual sports clothes and comfortable shoes are the norm. Don’t forget bathing suits in the summer, parkas for winter, and sturdy walking shoes for any season.
Weather
Our weather varies throughout the year and even within a day - welcome to the mountains! Get the latest weather forecast so you can plan what clothing to bring. Rain gear is almost always a good idea.
Kitchen Appliances
Our kitchens are furnished with cookware, utensils, toasters, drip coffeemakers, dishes, glasses, silverware, and other basics. If you want something like a crockpot, waffle iron, electric frying pan, food processor, or blender, please bring your own.
Grilling to Perfection
Each unit (except the Cottage Suite) has its own charcoal grill, but you need to provide your own charcoal, grill brush, and long-handled tools.
Food, Glorious Food
We supply paper towels and toilet tissue, of course. If you want facial tissues, paper napkins, paper plates, paper cups, plasticware, dishcloths, or scrubbers, please bring them along.
Sports Equipment
Bring your bicycles to ride around the resort or on nearby trails. Pack your golf clubs if you plan to sample any of the 20+ nearby courses or practice your swing on one of our well manicured lawns.
Make the most of the two sandy beaches on our lake! For shade along the shore, please bring your beach umbrella - we have chairs and lounges! We supply bath towels, but beach towels are up to you. If you forget, we offer some in our shop in Guest Services.
Boats
Each cabin comes with one rowboat in season (mid-April until Thanksgiving, weather permitting). Additional rowboats, canoes and paddleboats are available for rent at Guest Services. You can check out required life jackets there, too. You’re welcome to bring your own kayak, canoe, or sailboat (14’ or less). For your safety, boating is allowed only when the weather permits; check with Guest Services for the latest boating forecast.
Fishing Tackle
Our shop in Guest Services has a few basics, such as poles, worms, lures, bobbers, and hooks. If you’re a committed angler, bring your own poles and tackle for fishing on our lake or other nearby waterways.
Winter Sports
You can check out toboggans from Guest Services, but you need to bring your own cross-country skis for blazing a trail around the lake. For downhill skiing, tubing, and snowboarding, plan to visit a nearby ski area. You’ll have to bring your own snowboards and downhill ski equipment, or rent there.
Laundry
We have no public facilities for washing clothes. A laundromat and dry cleaner are located nearby. Bath and kitchen towels that come with your cottage can be exchanged upon request. Clotheslines are provided outside cottages to hang wet bathing suits or towels. Bring your own laundry detergent, we provide the clothespins.
Other Entertainment Items
Guest Services has a small lending library of books and board games, but you might want to pack your personal vacation reading, CD/DVD players and disks, playing cards, board games, and arts & crafts supplies.
